Home Instead Foundation Awards Grant to LBFE for Counseling
December 2, 2009 (Minneapolis) – The Home Instead Senior Care Foundation awarded Little Brothers – Friends of the Elderly (LBFE) a $5,000.00 grant to support its Counseling Services for local seniors in the Twin Cities. The programs provide mental health services to 150 homebound, older adults, sixty-years and over, to help them remain in their own homes as long as possible.
“Grants like this have allowed us to raise the total number of volunteer and professional counselors in our Counseling Services to 45 this year,” said Therese Cain, Executive Director of LBFE. “It is a very generous gift.”
“Our mission is very similar to Little Brothers – Friends of the Elderly, as we both help improve the quality of life for older adults,” said Paul Hogan, Executive Director of The Foundation. “We are pleased to be able to provide financial support to LBFE for the advocacy, safety and well-being of seniors.”
LBFE is one of 15 organizations receiving grants from The Home Instead Senior Care Foundation in 2009. Home Instead Senior Care, which provides non-medical care for seniors, established the Foundation in 2003, and has awarded 81 grants throughout the United States and Canada since 2004.
