This Holiday season, we hope you will consider sharing a few hours of your time with Little Brothers – Friends of the Elderly. Your presence – in any role or capacity – will help ensure that isolated elders will find joy and hope during a season when loneliness is most deeply felt.
Home for the Holidays volunteers visit elders in their home, apartment or nursing home for an hour or longer, providing friendly conversation and cheer. As a special treat, volunteers bring with them a red carnation, a gift, and a pumpkin pie to share with others at Thanksgiving, or festive holiday cookies at Christmas, all provided by LBFE through in-kind donations.
You can help make all of this possible! There are a number of volunteer roles that are available so there is sure to be a spot or two for you and your family.
Volunteer Opportunities Include:
- Holiday Visitors
- Pie/Cookie Makers
- Pie/Cookie Drop-Off and Pick-Up Helpers
See registration forms for more details.
COULD YOUR COMPANY OR COMMUNITY GROUP BE A HOLIDAY PARTY HOST AND SPONSOR?
We’re always looking for a business or community group to sponsor and host a joy-filled holiday event for our elders! This team-building opportunity would be held on a weekday afternoon in December. Tasks include inviting elders by phone, arranging for Metro Mobility, catering – and any other creative ideas!
Approximate in-kind donation cost is $500.
